Obituary for Russell Cook Sr.
Russell E. Cook, Sr., 74, of Enfield, CT loving husband of the late Myrna (Butz) Cook entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital. Russell was born July 15, 1943, in Windsor, CT the son of the late John E. and Lila (Russell) Cook. He was employed with Hamilton Standard from which he retired after many years as an Electronic Technician . Russell a longtime resident of Enfield was a faithful member of the Hazardville United Methodist Church where he served on many committees and was a member of the Friday Men's Breakfast Club. He was an avid gardener and cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. Russell is survived by two children, Russell Cook, Jr. and his wife, Catherine of Maple Grove, MN and Deborah Cook of Enfield; two beloved grandchildren, Jennifer and Samantha Cook; a brother, Francis Cook and his wife, Joanne of Springfield, MA; a sister, Agnes Van Alstyne of Brunswick, GA; several nieces, nephews and many longtime friends especially Rosemary Bolstridge. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service celebrating Russell's life will be held on Wednesday, August, 9, 2017, at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Enfield Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hazardville United Methodist Church, 330 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.
